So just how fast is the all wheel drive 691 horsepower Tesla Model S P85D Insane mode over its Sport setting? The folks at Drag Times recorded 0-60 blasts in both driving modes using a VBOX meter. Each run was performed with a near full state of charge to ensure maximum power output from the battery.
And the results?
Insane mode registered 0-60 MPH in 3.17 seconds. It's no coincidence that the 0-60 time rivals that of the McLaren F1 supercar since this was the performance benchmark Elon Musk had set for the Model S P85D.
Sport mode came in at 27% slower with a 0-60 MPH time of 4.04 second which incidentally matches the performance number set for the P85 (non D version).
